The World in 2018 – Opportunities and Challenges
Date: Wednesday 9 May
Time: 14:00 - 14:30
Location: Mount Nebo Hall, Sea Level

The world that we live, work and do business in has never been more complex but within all of the challenges, there are
opportunities. We will be examining the major trends in the months ahead with our panel during a special live recording
of the EBRD’s Pocket Economics Podcast which is presented by the Bank’s Managing Director for Communications and
former BBC foreign correspondent, Jonathan Charles.

The aim is to help you to understand the economic and
political context before you take decisions. There will also be a
chance to put your questions to our expert panel.

In the spotlight will be the major regional and global issues.

Amongst the areas under discussion:
• Can free trade survive in its current form?
• What can governments in the Southern and Eastern
Mediterranean do to assuage demands from citizens for a
better economic future?
• How will the oil price affect growth?
